THE ORGANIZER

Welcome to the 1st annual B.W.H.O. 2009 organized by spearfishingmotion.com in Samara! www.spearfishingmotion.com is one of the most visited spearfishing/ freediving website of the blue planet. Photo and video are dedicated to capture action and the fish as well as the capture of the fauna and the flora around which the fish exist.
Philippe Virgili, the website owner, is a French/ Italian born diver. Native from the French Riviera, he is living on the Atlantic Coast of Canada. He began practicing as a little boy and has for about forty years free dived and spear fished in Atlantic, Pacific, Indian Ocean and in Tasmanian, Caribbean ,Cortez, Mediterranean Sea.
He made about twelve diving trip to the Costa Rica Pacific Coast and choose one of the best Central America spots for blue water hunting: Samara, a beach located on the Nicoya Coast.

SHERI DAYE/ Florida.

Sheri Daye lives in Boca Raton, Florida. National U.S. competitor, she holds some world spearfishing records : cobia, dolphin fish, yellow fin tuna…
Sheri is one of the best lady blue water hunter of the blue planet. She organizes the Annual Spearfishing Seminar & Expo held in Miami.

ROBERTO REYES/ Puerto Rico.

Roberto Reyes lives in Puerto Rico. He holds some world records: yellowfin grouper, black jack.. and take part to several spearfishing competitions. Roberto with enough experience to spread around to all the other spearos, is one of the most representative diver of the blue water hunting community.

 TOMMY BOTHA

Called the "Tiger Woods of the spearfishing world", Tommy Botha lives 
in South Africa. He has won 12 national spearfishing titles and 
represented South Africa in 5 world title events.
His largest yellowfin tunas peared and landed some 20 miles off Cape 
Point was a 214lb fish.
